Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

The Artisan Punk (“we”, “us”) runs this website and online store (the “Services”). This policy explains how we collect, use and share your personal information when you visit the site, place an order or contact us. We are the data controller for your personal information under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Personal information we collect

  • Contact details — your name, billing and delivery address, phone number and email address.
  • Order information — the products you buy, personalisation text, photos you send us for engraving, and your order history.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Account information — if you create an account: your login details and saved addresses.
  • Communications — what you send us by email or through our enquiry forms.
  • Device and usage information — your IP address, browser and device type, and how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use it

  • To make and deliver your order — processing payment, making your piece, sending proofs, arranging delivery and handling returns (performance of a contract).
  • To reply to you — answering enquiries and quote requests (legitimate interests).
  • To keep the site secure — preventing fraud and misuse (legitimate interests).
  • Marketing — only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Legal obligations — keeping records for tax and accounting.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the services we need to run the shop:

  • Stripe and PayPal — to take payment. Each uses your information under its own privacy policy.
  • Delivery carriers (such as Royal Mail and DPD) — your name, address and, where needed, phone number or email, to deliver your order.
  • Our website host — the site runs on WordPress and WooCommerce, hosted by Hostinger.
  • Authorities — where the law requires it.

We never sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use cookies that the shop needs to work (your basket, checkout and login) and, if you agree, cookies that help us understand how the site is used. Stripe and PayPal set their own cookies during payment to prevent fraud.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for six years for tax purposes. Photos you send for engraving are deleted once your order is complete, unless you ask us to keep them for a repeat order. Enquiries that don’t lead to an order are deleted after 12 months.

International transfers

Some of our providers (such as Stripe and PayPal) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@theartisanpunk.com. We’ll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Children

The Services are not intended for children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
